Barbara Drayer
Barbara Drayer is an accomplished advancement leader with a proven track record helping schools of various sizes and missions effectively meet their fundraising goals. With over twenty-five years of experience, she has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing educational institutions.
Barb Drayer began her career in advancement at Sandy Spring Friends School, where she increased the Annual Fund by 25% and contributed to the school’s first feasibility study, which raised $1.2 million in 1999. She subsequently held development roles at Friends Community School and The Dalton School, where she boosted the Annual Fund from $2.6 million to $4.1 million in four years. At The Windward School, she led the Annual Fund to a 60% increase. Under her leadership, the school successfully completed two capital campaigns raising a combined $30 million for campus improvements and the construction of a new campus in New York City.
Beyond financial results, Barb is a strategic thinker and relationship builder. Her ability to craft compelling narratives, inspire donor loyalty, and foster collaborative partnerships sets her apart. Barb’s commitment to making a difference is evident in her work.
Barb earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Hartwick College and a Master’s degree from West Chester University. A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2011, she is actively involved in the philanthropic community, serving as a mentor and thought leader. Barb is passionate about animals and the environment. She serves on the board of Adopt a Dog in Armonk, NY, and is a loyal volunteer and donor to many nonprofits.
